contacts or glasses
Well...I have been wearing glasses basically my whole life. I really cant see..lol..I wear my glasses so much I dont even know when their off now because they feel so normal. Recently I wore contacts and everybody thought I looked so different. Some people liked the change but others were to use to theglasses so it had to grow on them...I believe I look nice with bothhonestly. Contacts are great for clubbin and glasses I wear anywhere..I believe they fit me..and I look spohisticated! I believe glasses are better because I caught 2 pinkeyes when i slept in my contacts..crazy right, bet I never slept in them again! the thing I hate abt glasses is the fogging and them being so fragile.

~My Field Of Study~
My major is dance. I have been dancing since I can remember. I have not picked a specific category but I am pretty sure I am going to choose performance. I have never taken formal classes before i came to Clumbia, which is also a main reason why I chose Columbia College. The selection is oustanding and they believe in people. I have always wanted to be a dancer since I can remember, but I was scared to go after my dream. I would love to perdorm on tour or in videos(not a video vixen). Dancing alos allows tou to travel a lot, and who wouldnt want to travel the world and have it paid for. I realize it is hard career, but I believe I am a strong and determined individual. I mainly do hip-hop dance, but I love contemporary dance. Ballet is hard, sometimes I feel like I will never catch on until I get a good job from the teacher..lol
I am also in this field becasue i believe I am a creative person. I beieve I can bring alot to the table..not to sound cocky because I love learning new dances. I also think this field is for me becasue I learn quick and it is something I love doing no matter the circumstances. I know this sounds cliche', but dancing is my passion!

cHICAGO pOTHOLES... :(
As I was leaving Hooters restaurant this weekend my friends and I decided to go bowling. The night was rainy and cold but that didnt stop us. As soon as we made it to the bowling alley we heard a big boom and immediately got scared. Because it was raining so hard it was puddles we could not see much and we hit a chicago pothole(mood- pissed). I knew I had a flat so my boyfriend got out the car to check and YES we had a flat. The only positive thing was we was in front of the bowling alley. When my boyfriend started to fix the tire he noticed we had two flats because of the pothole, I could have smacked the major if he was present.
I believe the the city of chicago potholes are a pain in the ass! tHE POtholes are so big and unavoidable at times which causes the resisdents to lose money. This is not fair, I should be able to drive down a street without being paranoid of potholes. I also have a problem with the potholes only being in the more urban areas. When I am in the suburbs the streets are smooth even if your car is a hooptie.
I heard they have a complaint process and you could get your money back, but the money takes eternity. These potholes should be taken seriuosly.

Discovering something abt myself!
After graduating from highschool I planned to attend college. My mind was set on going to California but my parents thought that was too far so i settled for my second choice: Purdue University. Purdue is located in Indiana but it is only two and a half hours away(not even that far). After I got accepted I asked myfather about our payment method because I was not familiar with the process. He told me he was going to pay for college and not to fill out financial aid, and of course i listened to my father simply because he is my father and I trusted him. When I attended Purdue I was scared at first but I became friends with my roomamtes really quick. weeks went by and I started to get e-mails from the school stating I was taken off the roster because my bill were not paid. I called my father ASap and he told me to " FILL OUT FINANCIAL AID", and I went off. I felt as if the one person I could depend on let me down in the worst way. After the first semester I was kicked out becuase my father did not pay ANYTHING. At first I thought it was a waste of time, but over time I realized it made me stronger and independent. It also brought upon some annoying qualities, because i constantly question people and have trust problems. I believe if I would not have went through that experience I would still act as a teenager and not a young woman. So in a way I'm saying THank You Dad!

Blog #3..Commuting..UGH
I started going to columbia College fall 2008 . I was excited, so excited I decided to stay on campus even though I live in Chicago. I stayed in the University Center on STate street. I loved my roommate, the food, and just being close to my classes. All of this changed when I realized i would have to pay the school to come next semester because I had a hold on my account..UGGH.The only choice I had was to commute. Eventhough we have been three weeks into school I am already aggravated with commuting. The people on the trains really irritate me, especially with those loud ass Ipods. I can hear the whole song. There are also those loud talkers on the cell phone who basically tell their whole life story in one train ride. Don't want to sound like I'm complaining, but I also hate when the most smelliest person stands by me for the entire train ride, even when seats are available.
I also have a problem with these breaks i have between classes, some are 3 hours long. Columbia should give commuting people a place to hangout and rest..because i can not afford those dorms. I found myself sleeping outside of class before for an hour!
Commuting is also a problem when you have late classes..i really don't like being on the train late with those creepers..lol

In todays society I believed we live for myspace or facebook! I first heard about myspace in highschool because of fellow classmates, but i never decided to make a page or even look at others.I simply thought the idea was lame. Then when I was a junior or senior in highschool I heard about facebook. I was still not interested because i was just not that type of person, but as I went off to college I decided to make a facebook. MAinly to keep in touch with friends, but it eventually started to take over. Facebook tells everybody business, and you dont even have to ask. I quickly became sucked into the facebook groups and applications. My albums were all filled to the max. I realized facebook takes away from more important things in life..like homework. I would just tell myself i want to see if i got a new message and before you knew it i was looking at somebody else notes and commenting on pictures. I also believe internet social networks cause alot of drama and could endanger peoples lives.when posting pic people can find out where you live or even stalk you! Both genders send threatning messages also known as internet gangsters. These social networks can also get you caught in in lies with your boyfriend or girlfriend. Most male seem to have this problem just because they don't want to change their status to "in a relationship"..lmao
Recently i made a myspace and honestly them damn artist get on my last nerve promoting! I AM NOT A PRODUCER! I believe myspace is more creative than facebook, but they are both basically the same and they cause the same problems. I believe these cites are addicting and she be less important in lives!

Hi my full name is Monee R. Thompson, I don't like my middle that much so I won't tell you. I was born in Chicago, Illinois on a hot summer day in August. Growing up in Chicago has been unpredictable! Living on some rough streets where violence is normal should not be accepted, but hey I got use to the sirens all day. When i moved Bolingbrook(a suburb in Chicago) I started to miss the sirens and drama a little. Even though Chicago is violent it also has some wonderful sites. The downtown area is wonderful at night because the lights look amazing. Navy pier and the Lake Michigan are also nice to visit! Living Downtown is also fun but nervewrecking at the same time. For example parking is fustrating and so is the breeze in the winter time. If visiting Chicago in the winter you should definately wrap up!
